Eric A. Fisher has over forty-two years of diverse legal and business experience, including business and real estate transactions, prosecution of white-collar crime and the development of training programs for lawyers, judges and prosecutors in Central Asia. His knowledge of U.S. regulatory matters include Immigration, copyright, trademark and computer law, as well as experience in the private practice of law and as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for an international corporation. He is currently teaching a business law class and on the advisory committee for the paralegal studies program at Colorado Mountain College. Eric Fisher has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for the past 20 years.

OVERSEAS STRATEGIC CONSULTING, Ltd., Phila., PA., Director of Legal Reform Projects, 2/96-10/98. Served as Deputy Team Leader and Legal Liaison in Almaty, Kazakstan from February to November 1996, supervising all work in 18 regional offices and coordinating all public education campaigns with several legal reform contractors. Developed training programs in Bosnia and established an office in Republika Srpska for the Public Education team.

Established joint ventures with Russian textile mills, a TV station, newspaper and other businesses, including drafting all documents, press releases and marketing materials. Coordinated with government agencies, investors & law firms for new joint ventures in Russia.

Prior Experience

Adjunct teacher: Summit High School, Trial Advocacy and high school mock trial team.
Directly responsible for managing all litigation for a U.S. based company with extensive interests in Russia, including litigation regarding the sale of Russian-made textiles.
Helped establish joint ventures with Russian textile mills to facilitate the sale of textiles and garments worldwide. Assisted with purchase and modernization of textile mill.
Extensive experience working with U.S. companies in the former USSR, including ten months living in Kazakstan on a USAID project.
As an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of California, prosecuted businesses for violation of federal laws, including environmental and international laws.
As a USAID Legal Specialist II, worked with the ARD/Checchi Rule of Law consortium in Central Asia to deliver a training program for prosecutors and judges on economic crimes.
Developed and implemented public education and public relations campaigns for several USAID-sponsored contractors in Almaty, Kazakstan dealing with the transition to a market economy, including conferences, seminars, TV and radio programming, news bulletins, press releases, research surveys, and articles. Developed and delivered training programs to governmental officials in Bosnia.
Delivered lectures to lawyers, judges and prosecutors in several Central Asian capitols on the U.S. Criminal Justice System for the Academy of Educational Development/ NIS Educational Training Project (AED/NET).
Speaker at numerous conferences and meetings on the topic of Doing Business with Russia and the USSR, including the Russian-American Chamber of Commerce, American Conference Institute, University of Pennsylvania Foreign Policy Research Institute, and several Rotary Clubs.
Drafted & negotiated contracts for participation of Russian officials and factory directors to attend a management training school in the USA. Lectured on Commercial Law and Contracts, and coordinated all conferences, including several large conferences for the textile industry.
Helped establish an international business services center at Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow offering international telecommunications, translation, event planning and office services to international business-people in Russia.
Established the first joint venture between an American company and a private cooperative in the Ukraine, and drafted joint venture documents, which have become a model for companies seeking similar ventures. Helped organize production and management of this venture, and worked with local authorities on legal, accounting and other business issues that arose.
Provided consulting services to U.S. companies of different sizes (including Ingram Cactus and FMC) seeking to locate joint venture partners or enter the Russian market.
